Aaron Bahr Dectet- Prologue (2011)
Prologue was my first project as a composer, bandleader, and trumpeter, and featured original compositions and arrangements for a ten-piece group. It's available on iTunes, Apple Music, CD Baby, or from me directly!
Kenny was a piece I wrote as part of the SF Jazz HUT Foundation Alumni Commission award. It was written in honor of the great composer and flugelhorn player Kenny Wheeler. This was quite a difficult piece, but this band of talented high-school students did an amazing job with this recording!
These are some of my other compositions for small and large ensembles, recorded live. Firebreather features a 7 piece group (3 horns and four rhythm section) while the Love in Her and Bye Polar Bear are compositions for full jazz orchestra.
